Superfine merino wool is an ideal material for constructing garments that meet these stringent criteria. Merino wool handles moisture management and thermal regulation with ease. Flat seam construction increases comfort.
Supreme Comfort: Montbell uses the highest quality of merino wool from New Zealand. With a selective fine gauge of 18.5 micron fiber, Montbell’s merino wool feels extremely smooth and has great elasticity. The fibers are more uniform in the number of crimps and their direction, while maintaining great consistency in diameter. This allows for very few stray fibers that make traditional wool garments itchy and uncomfortable.
High Thermal Performance: Under normal conditions the hydrophobic wool is moisture resistant. However, as humidity increases due to body heat and perspiration, the merino wool opens up slightly to absorb sweat to keep you feeling drier.
Natural Antibacterial Properties: Merino wool naturally resists odor. The complex nature of the wool fiber creates a highly breathable fabric that easily moves perspiration away from the skin, creating a dry environment where odor causing bacteria cannot thrive. This keeps you smelling better longer.
Simple to Care For: All of Montbell’s Super Merino Wool garments can be washed at home. Machine wash cold on the gentle cycle to avoid any shrinkage. Lay flat to dry.
