Unique welded box construction, high quality 800 fill power goose down, and the Windstopper fabric are used in combination to provide a supremely warm, water resistant, windproof alpine parka.

At a mere 26 ounces, the Permafrost is one of the lightest mountaineering and backcountry parkas available today. Highly compressible and full featured this parka is perfect those lightweight winter expeditions.

Zip-off tunnel hood is two-way adjustable. Hand warmer pockets and micro-fleece lined collar increases comfort. Hidden in hand pockets are draw cords for waist adjustment. One zippered chest pocket and two internal pockets provide plenty of storage.

Two-way water resistant Aqua-Tect zipper makes venting easy and keeps out the moisture. Alpine cuffs-elastic cuffs with velcro adjustments seal out the cold. Welded box construction eliminates sewing lines on the face fabric to eliminate cold spots and maximize the warm of the high quality down. Stuff sack included.

Ballistic™ nylon is one and a half times more abrasion resistant than other similar weight fabrics and boasts three times the tear strength of nylons that are almost 20% heavier. Because of this, Ballistic™ nylons have allowed Montbell to reduce the weight of many of their products by more than 50% without sacrificing durability. This strength comes from the manufacturing process where the nylon is repeatedly heated and stretched to align the molecules, much like the tensilizing of steel, resulting in an extremely durable, light weight, wind and water resistant fabric.
