When aluminium may not cut it, but steel seems like overkill, try a hybrid. The Camp XLC Nanotech Crampons take advantage of the best properties of both aluminum and steel.
XLC Nanotech Crampons uses innovative Sandvik Nanoflex® steel alloy (20% lighter than normal steel and up to 60% stronger) attachments that line the bottom of the critical front points. The attachments make the front points sharper for higher penetration and increased security. They also make them significantly more resistant to wear and tear.
A new manufacturing design distributes force applied to a single spike across the entire platform, making spikes less likely to bend or snap. Constructed almost entirely from lightweight and durable 7075 aluminum alloy.
Semi-Automatic bindings fit boots with heel welts. The plastic harness system is hinged to 2 front posts which retain the boot securely even if it has shallow or no front welts. Ankle strap is equipped with a quick release buckle. Heel lever adjusts by hand, via a plastic wheel, so that you can get the best fit for your boot.
Ideal for expeditions and low-angle mixed routes where light weight and high strength are both at a premium.
